I never really ever know what to say, when all my emotions get in the way. I'm just trying to get us on the same page.
So its Season 3 and I am anticipating the third year jump that is predicted in basketball. haha.
It began with a bang as BYU defeated OU 14-13, and Mike and I went running and driving and yelling through the streets of Provo. We got it on camera. haha.
Amidst the victory came two sorta bitter sweet pieces of news. But reading Larissa's blog cheered me up a little and reminded me that God is good. haha.
Having the fam over was great too. I just didn't realize it until they left...haha.

yeah, that's very common and even more common among young people. Which now makes me realize how important is for someone to be surrounded by the right people with the same ideals you have, someone who can help you become a better person in every aspect of your life.
ReplyDeletewell, you are right. Some of them might be waiting for someone to be a true friend to them, like someone who needs a friend who will share the gospel with him, that can change his life.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm talking about those friends you know for quite a while, and you just realize that being around them, doesn't help you. That being w them will never bring the Spirit but will drive it away. If you are strong enough to say no, and to tell them what they are doing, then it's good. But if you are not strong enough yet, the further the better.
At least I know in Matthew 6:24. I cannot be at peace with the Lord and with evil. That's what I've learned.

Did you think the same things? I'm so glad I'm not the only one. Yes, pleausure it is only temporary and it makes you slave for you continue looking to feel "happy" but this happiness will only last for a while, but the guilt, pain and suffering that will eventually come with these bad decisions last longer.

ReplyDeleteRight! We get trapped by these effects, bc our thoughts will be on the things we have done which we know they are wrong, and is why we feel guilty. But until we realize it, we keep confounding pleasure with happiness, and we continue doing the same things over and over again. It's a cycle.
ReplyDeletePretty interesting, if life was a multiple choice test that we need to pass in order to receive the benefits, why would we choose the wrong answer? Who would want to fail the test? Why would we choose the wrong answer on purpose?
The Spirit will always be there to remind us what it's the right thing to do. And by choosing wrong and knowing it, we will not be free because we will have this feeling of remorse, and feeling ashamed of our actions.
But of course, the right answer will bring us happiness, peace to your mind and heart. Choosing the right choice brings as a consequnce blessings that will last forever, and will makes us free for the rest of our lives.
That's the key to our happiness.
